“Mammograms: For one saved, three over treated”

Review Journal in Las Vegas (October 30, 2012)

In an article that appeared in today’s Review Journal in Las Vegas (October 30, 2012), the heading read, “Mammograms: For one saved, three over treated”

An independent expert panel commissioned by Cancer Research U.K. and Britain’s department of health (published in the Lancet Journal) concluded that for every life saved, roughly three other women were over-diagnosed and unnecessarily treated (receive chemotherapy, surgery or radiation for a breast cancer that would not ever be dangerous).

Karsten Jorgensen, a researcher at the Nordic Cochrane Center in Copenhagen has published several papers on over-diagnosis and said health authorities have been misleading women for the past two decades by giving too rosy a picture of the benefits of mammograms.

Denie Hiestand has also written several papers on the dangers of mammograms.

“It is very sad but true that there is far more profitability in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer than in the prevention of it. Are women being used as economic fodder for the pharmaceutical industry? The evidence would suggest that they are. As I stated in my book Electrical Nutrition many years ago, perhaps cancer is too good a business to cure. Sadly, with breast cancer, this may be even more true.”

He continues, “Every medical student going through their training is repeatedly taught that the breast tissues are very delicate and no pressure should be applied to the tissue during observation or examination. However, the diagnostic tool of choice in this country is the mammogram which is in essence putting the breast in a vice and squeezing the begeebbers out of the tissues. Then while the cells are broken open, under stress and traumatized, we then radiate them! You could not inflict more damage to the breast tissue if you tried. Couple this with the radiation of the damaged tissue, you have the perfect scenario to induce cell malfunction which could then lead to cancer.”

A natural health consultant and teacher of personal growth, health and awareness, Denie Hiestand comments, “It is my view that by far the highest percentage of so-called lumps in the breasts should be left alone, as long as there is no pain or inflammation associated with them. The cysts or breast lumps show that the body is detoxifying the blood perfectly naturally, as will be explained…. To cut a long and involved biological story down to one or two sentences, the lymph nodes in the breast are the last line of chemical detox plants in the body and it is the job of the lymph nodes to pull out any non-life supporting compounds from the blood. These compounds which the body perceives as toxic are isolated and wrapped up into fibrous tissue which then we categorize as breast lumps and tumors. It is the molecule by molecule cleansing of these toxic chemicals, petrochemicals and preservatives from the blood that form into cysts and tumors. It is your body working overtime to keep you alive.”

Realizing the link between chemicals in skin care and breast cancer, Denie Hiestand has spent the last 8 years developing a healthy skin care based on New Zealand Colostrum (www.Colostrumskincare.com)

An anonymous very relevant poem:

For years and years they told me,
Be careful of your breasts.
Don’t ever squeeze or bruise them.
And give them monthly tests.
So I heeded all their warnings,
And protected them by law.
Guarded them very carefully,
And I always wore my bra.

After 30 years of astute care,
My gyno, Dr Pruitt,
Said I should get a Mammogram
“OK,” I said, “let’s do it.”
“Stand up here real close” she said,
(She got my boob in line),
“And tell me when it hurts,” she said,
“Ah yes! Right there, that’s fine.”
She stepped upon a pedal,
I could not believe my eyes!

A plastic plate came slamming down,
My hooters in a vise!
My skin was stretched and mangled,
From underneath my chin.
My poor boob was being squashed,
To Swedish Pancake thin.
Excruciating pain I felt,
Within it’s viselike grip.

A prisoner in this vicious thing,
My poor defenseless tit!
“Take a deep breath,” she said to me,
Who does she think she’s kidding?!?
My chest is mashed in her machine,
And woozy I am getting.
“There, that’s good,” I heard her say,
(The room was slowly swaying.)

“Now, let’s have a go at the other one.”
Have mercy, I was praying.
It squeezed me from both up and down,
It squeezed me from both sides.
I’ll bet SHE’S never had this done,
To HER tender little hide.
Next time that they make me do this,
I will request a blindfold.
I have no wish to see again,
My knockers getting steam rolled.

If I had no problem when I came in,
I surely have one now.
If there had been a cyst in there,
It would have gone “ker-pow!”
This machine was created by a man,
Of this, I have no doubt.
I’d like to stick his balls in there,
And, see how THEY come out!
